Hold up, y’all, Big changes ahead!
Organizers of JumpShip Contest (Dockside Mountain Bike Society) announced today that their Inner Harbour event planned for August 2 – 3 is being re-planned for later in the Fall.
“We have tried for several years to stage a national class event in the inner harbour for lots of very good reasons, but economically, the necessity to literally invent terrain has proven to be cost prohibitive,” explained Derek Kidd, organizer of JumpShip 2014. “For the past two months, with the understanding and support of our sponsors and riders, we have been exploring possible alternatives that would better fit our business model and elevate the rider and spectator experience at the same time. We will be making an announcement in the coming weeks that will strengthen our rider experience and take the sport of mountain biking to entirely new level on Southern Vancouver Island.
JumpShip 2014 organizers are very grateful to their community partners in Victoria who supported their efforts over the past several years in Victoria, and we apologize for the short cancellation notice.
“We are committed to delivering the highest quality competitor and spectator experience possible, and our announcement in a few days will exceed everyone’s expectations – Stay tuned for details.”
