Jumpship 2014 goes Big Mountain!
Here it is- the big announcement that we’ve been trying to keep under wraps for a while now…
Jumpship finally has a home, right where a Slopestyle course should be- in the Mountains!
Bear Mountain Resort has come on board to revitalize the Jumpship contest, and usher in a new evolution for the event. Jumpship now has a course that we don’t have to tear down as soon as the contest is over!
The benefits for the event are staggering in number. Not only can we build and tweak the course to perfection over the span of weeks as opposed to hours, but riders can have more practice time to dial in their tricks! We now have that one key to a successful Slopestyle event that we’ve always lacked- A slope! With the land that Bear Mountain has allocated to the event, the course can be twice the size, with over 100 feet of elevation loss from start to finish!
The new location also allows us more room for the beer garden, sound stage, and airbag (with a larger staging area and better run-in!).
Now, naturally, a change this large requires some additional lead time. Jordie is hard at work moving dirt and securing all the machinery he needs to build a world-class Slopestyle course in the middle of a resort mountain. With all the extra work needed, we’ve decided to move the event to October 3rd-5th, 2014.
